The Jeonju Zion Church, Tribe Thomas of Shincheonji Church of Jesus involved in the cleanup activities with enthusiasm for the families who visit the memorial park.
About 500 of the volunteers of the Jeonju Zion Church visited the Hyoja memorial park in Jeonju and collected the garbage and waste to the full amount of 300 bags in 5L thrown away thoughtlessly around the park and its parking lot on July 13.
Especially face making large and middle sized wastes such as car seats, some styrofoam and wasted tires were disposed. After the activities, they carried on a street campaign shouting slogans "Do not litter!" and "Love nature!"
Lee, Jaesang, the pastor of the Jeonju Zion Church said, "I am very sorry that nowadays people's interests in volunteering works and caring for their neighbors have decreased. " and added, "In order to make our local community a better place where there are full of love and a bright future, we are going to practice Jesus's teaching of 'Love your neighbors'."
Baek, Jongsun, the head of the management facilities, said, "There have been volunteers for the park, but most of them are families or students, and we cannot ask them a longtime cleanup. But the volunteers from the Jeonju Zion Church did not hesitate to clean up every nook and corner. we are very grateful to their work."
Moreover, the Jeonju Zion Church has continued to participate in the Cleanup for the Hanok village, the campaign for saving and cleaning up the riverside, holding a marathon game, consolatory performances for the senior center, delivering Kimchi to men of national merit in association with the Jeonju regional office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the environmental activities for Mt.Moak and so on.
